#GivingTuesday is a special call to action to create a global day of giving that brings diverse organizations and communities around the world together to give back.
Now, more than ever, we need leaders. We need leaders in every space, place, and community. We need leaders to rise up, speak and hear truth, activate conversations, and facilitate embodied, compassionate, deeply authentic change. Community Yoga (CoY) serves to bridge yoga and social engagement through the practice of compassionate action: training and inspiring leaders to create sustainable change in their communities using the tools of yoga, meditation, and self-inquiry.
Our world needs leaders to promote wellness, and connection to all members of our community regardless of religion, race, political belief, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Community Yoga Austin fosters and sustains a healthy, vibrant community by promoting personal and interpersonal well being. Rooted in compassion and connection, we are moved to wake up and take action in response, creating a peaceful, just, and connected global community.
This is where you come in….
Public engagement brings people together to address issues of importance, solve problems and bring about positive social change. For public engagement to be effective, it needs everyday folks to engage in discourse, dialogue and action on issues they really care about.
Through our Giving Tuesday we are highlighting members in our community engaged in what we call “The Yoga Of Compassionate Action” throughout the month of December. Our intention is to start a dialog exploring the living practice of compassion and what that means to us individually and collectively. We emphasize the importance of self compassion, because we recognize that for peace to be sustainable it has to begin with inner peace. We invite you to help us bring people from vastly different backgrounds together to participate in meaningful dialogue, community building exercises.
Tuesday, November 29th through December 31st we will highlight folks engaged in collectively moving our world forward with compassion in an effort to inspire over 1080 acts of compassion throughout our campaign. In doing so, hope to create a ripple effect. We all have a deep need to be helpful. It’s how the soul gets its exercise. It strengthens your heart, and it can be incredibly impactful. Most people want to help out, but more than that, they cherish the opportunity. As one life heals, a ripple is created touching everything in its path making our community a happier, healthier, and safer place to live.

Tag a friend or someone you would like to honor. Add the hash tags below to your post. Invite them to share a few words about compassion as well. Gratitude is a form of consciousness and acknowledgement lifts up both the giver and the receiver.
We trust this will open doors of possibility and collaboration within the community. Mobilize those seeking to connect in meaningful ways to get involved in their own communities. Increase and engage in acts of compassion towards self or another. We think we need more gifting. Free kindness. Clean offerings. Zero expectations. Pure Love. Because kindness is a renewable resource.
So please remember this when YOU need help. When you want someone to talk it through with you (but they’re mostly listening). Community is the antidote.
